Kristyn holds a MA, has run small businesses in Russia and the US, and has volunteered in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Uganda on projects related to women’s empowerment.
After having children, Kristyn became an advocate for mothers in the US, as a doula and Lamaze educator, and abroad, as the Founder of CleanBirth.org.

Max works with the President to prepare the annual budget and present the budget to the board for approval. He ensures that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board on a timely basis.
Max holds an MBA from OxfordUniversity and has extensive experience in the business world, from being the CEO of a small business to his current post as a Software Architect for S&P100 Insurance company. Having lived and volunteered in Southeast Asia for nearly 2 years, he is passionate about making a difference in the lives of Lao women.
Shannon Lawton-O’Boyle, Board Member

Shannon heads up efforts to promote CleanBirthGifts. As part of her responsibilities as Director of CleanBirth.org, Shannon spearheads fundraising efforts in Indiana and within her social network, which extends worldwide.
Shannon has deep roots in the birthing community. She began birthwork in 2005 as a Birth Doula. In 2006, Shannon moved with her family to Germany and served American families on the U.S. Army Garrison, Stuttgart as a birth educator and Chairwoman of the International Women’s Club of Stuttgart. Shannon has since been certified as a Lactation Counselor and Lamaze Educator.

Jenny is responsible for Cleanbirth.org’s public relations strategy and communications plan. Jenny leads fundraising efforts in Michigan and promotes awareness of the organization in her community and among her personal and corporate networks worldwide.
With over a decade of experience leading corporate communications including public relations, investor relations, legislative affairs and media relations for a major consumer brand company, Jenny uses her experience in messaging, social media and public relations to expand the awareness of the organization and increase funding channels going forward.
With two degrees in international relations, a history of supporting many organizations that serve those in need worldwide and two small children of her own, Jenny is delighted to be making a difference to the lives of many women and children in Laos.
