Baby Activist: Birthday Party Raises $900

CleanBirth.org is so lucky to have the support of donors from around the world.  Some of our most committed supporters live right in Laos.  They understand the reality of Lao life, and since many of them are mothers, they want to contribute to the making other moms and babies safe.  One such mom, Danyel, reached out when her daughter Rylan was not yet a year.  She said she wanted to raise money for CleanBirth at her daughter’s first birthday.  Such an amazing idea.  Friends came and donated — and then Rylan’s mom and dad contributed a large sum themselves.

This little girl might not know it but her 1st birthday will have a HUGE impact: 180 birth kits!  180 safe births! 180 babies and 180 moms with a better chance at survival!

Mother’s Day Final Numbers

11328769_10152957695930954_852731465_n So amazing what moms can do!  We raised $200 this Mother’s Day for moms and babies in Laos.  How?

1. Our Mother’s Day Card sold exclusively through Etsy = $1400.  This is wonderful because many people who had never heard of CleanBirth found us through Etsy or through blog posts/buzz that drove them to Etsy.  This is a significant jump from any online card sales we have ever had!

Photography packages sold by Ewa Samples Photography = $597.  This is incredible. My friend, photographer and fellow World Moms Blog contributor, Ewa at Ewa Samples Photography raised $597 for moms and babies in Laos this Mother’s Day.  She held mini-photography sessions on Mother’s Day weekend and donated 40% of her sales. The result: beautiful pictures for moms in the US and 120 safe births for moms in Laos.

Last Minute Mother’s Day
